Our Noble Sheikh, Sheikh 'Abdul-Muhsin al-'Abbaad - may Allaah preserve him - was asked: Q: Is the opening supplication (of the salaah) said after every tasleem (ending) of the taraaweeh prayer? A: No, it is only said at the beginning of the night prayer. A person only comes with the opening supplication in the first (unit of the) night prayer. As for the rest of the raka'aat (units of prayer) then there is no opening supplication said therein, it is only said at the start of (the first two rak'ah of) the taraaweeh; the night prayer that is carried out in Ramadan.
