Question posed to Sheikh Rabee حفظه الله تعالى:
Q: What is the best book after the Book of Allaah written on (the subject of) Aqeedah (Islamic creed)?
A: The most authentic book after the Book of Allaah is 'Saheeh Bukhaari', then followed by 'Saheeh Muslim'.
As for the the books of Aqeedah (the authentic salafi creed) we do not compare between those books, such that we say: "This is good and that is evil." or "This one is more virtuous than the other."
It could be said that this one is more extensive than this one, but all books pertaining to the Salafi creed are good and beneficial, so you should refer every person to the book that suits him according to his state and his level.
It might be that a book contains many proofs, yet one cannot comprehend it, so you should refer him to a book that he can comprehend and understand, because the learned/well-grounded scholar is the one that teaches the people beginning with the easiest books then the next easiest. He progresses with them in stages, step by step. That is why you see the Salaf wrote small texts so people can progress by way of them gradually. Such that when one learns a particular text and understands it well, he then moves on to the next one.
