Question posed to Sheikh Ubayd bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiree حفظه الله تعالى:

Q: Some (people) raise their hands and supplicate between the Adhaan and the Iqaamah. Is this reported (in the Qur'aan or Sunnah)?

A: This is included under the generality (of some texts). For verily, from the etiquettes and sunnah of supplicating is to raise the hands, facing the qiblah (direction of prayer). So there is no problem with that in shaa Allaah.
