Abu Dharr, may Allāh be pleased with him said:
The sufficient amount of supplication alongside piety, is like the sufficient amount of salt needed for food.
Shaikh Fawzān حفظه الله تعالى said:
Meaning: The intention is not plentiful supplication without attentiveness and contemplation.
Rather, what is intended is that the supplication is sincere, even if it is little, just like salt. For indeed, a little bit of salt is sufficient for food to be good.
