Result of those that Insult Allaah and His Messenger ﷺ

Shaikh al-Islām ibn Taimiyah - may Allāh have mercy on him - said:

"It is from the way of Allāh that if the believers do not get the chance to punish the ones that insult Allāh and His messenger, then indeed Allāh Himself takes retribution against them for His messenger and suffices him against them"

- Assārim al-Maslūl: 164

Imām al-Qurtubi's explanation of the Āyah:

{See how they coin similitudes for you [O Muhammad], so they have gone astray, and they cannot find a (Right) Path} [Al-Furqān: 9]

Meaning, they have brought forth these examples in order to achieve (their goal of) discrediting you. However, {they have gone astray} from the path of the truth just as they have strayed away from attaining their (main) objective (of discrediting you).

{So they cannot find a way} to legitimise that which they have said about you [Or to divert the people away from you].

- [Tafsīr al-Qurtubi 25/371]

Shaikh Abdurrahmān bin Nāsir as-Sa'di - may Allāh have mercy on him - said in explanation of this verse:

{Truly! We will suffice you against the mockers} [Al-Hijr: 95]

"[Meaning:] Indeed, we have sufficed you against those that mock you and mock that which you have come with. This is a guarantee from Allāh to His Messenger that no mocker will ever harm him, and that Allāh will suffice him against them with that which He wills of retribution. Allāh - the Most High - has already made that come to pass, as there has never been anyone (past or present) that demonstrated any kind of mockery against the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ or that which he came with; except Allaah – the Most High – destroyed and obliterated such individual in the worst possible fashion."

- Taisīr al-Karīm ar-Rahmān: 435
