Do As The Callers to Allāh Did

Shaykh Rabī ibn Hādī Umayr Al-Madkhalī said:

“Do as the callers to Allāh did. Shaykh Abdullah al-Qar’āwī came to our region where many people were bedridden, afflicted by jinn, zār (spirit possession), and other things. They would encounter jinn at night in trees, on roads, and so forth. The devils would overpower them - ignorant people lacking tawhīd. He came and spread tawhīd, without ruqyah or anything else, may Allāh bless you. All these issues ended completely when tawhīd and knowledge spread. When tawhīd and knowledge spread, these things disappear. When ignorance prevails, sorcerers, soothsayers, and devils multiply. There is cooperation between sorcerers, soothsayers, and devils. I advised him to do as the reformers did, calling to tawhīd and combatting shirk and superstitions, so the devils would leave them, and they would not need ruqyah practitioners, sorcerers, or others."
