Shaykh Muhammad bin Sālih Al-Uthaymīn رحمه الله تعالى said:

"It is incumbent upon the Ummah to be grateful to the companions of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, because they traversed upon aiding the religion of Allāh with a great endeavour.

There has never been the like of them in terms of their support (for the religion and the Prophet ﷺ), and due to the fact that they strove for the cause of Allāh, and they migrated for the sake of Allāh.

Likewise, they fought and died (for the sake of Allāh), and left their (home) lands and wealth (for the sake of Allāh). That was their state, and nor can the likes of them ever be found from those who come after them."
