Answering Daniel (Haqiqatjou) Majazi-tjou [Part 5] Allāh Has 2 Right Hands

Answering Daniel Majazi-tjou (As he does not seem to accept the Attributes of Allāh upon their Haqiqah)

Daniel has been refuted for his views previously by our elder Mashayikh Shaykh Abu Khadeejah and Shaykh Abu Iyaad. See here:

This series of articles is a refutation of part of his recent debate with Sam Shamoun and Jay Dyer, wherein he was not able to answer simple claims made by the Christians (which were effectively additions to a Jahmee argument previously espoused centuries before), and also similarly allowed Ash'ari claims regarding Attributes of Allāh to be portrayed as being legitimate.

The fifth issue:

Another point bought by Sam Shamoun which was not addressed by Daniel was that Allāh has two Right Hands, how does that work? Daniel's ignorance in the Names and Attributes again caused him to ignore this question, one easily answered.

Shaykh ibn Bāz, may Allāh have mercy on him, was asked:

Question:

What is our position regarding the hadith of Ibn Umar, as reported by Muslim, where the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Then He will fold the earths in His left hand and then say, 'I am Allah. Where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant ones?'" How do we reconcile this with the statement of the Prophet (ﷺ) that "Both His hands are right hands"?

Answer:

"All these hadiths are authentic according to the scholars of Ahl al-Sunnah. The hadith of Ibn Umar is marfu’ (attributed directly to the Prophet) and authentic, not mawquf (stopped at Ibn Umar) as you mentioned. There is no contradiction between them, praise be to Allah.

Allah, Exalted is He, describes His hands as "right" and "left" in terms of names, as in the hadith of Ibn Umar. However, both hands are described as "right" in terms of honor and virtue, as indicated in other authentic hadiths.

This is also supported by the verse where Allah says: {And the heavens will be rolled up in His right hand} (Az-Zumar: 67), and the Prophet's (ﷺ) statement: “The right hand of Allah is full, never diminishing in spending...” The term "right" is the opposite of "left," as mentioned in the hadith.

The purpose of these verses and hadiths is to clarify that Allah, Exalted is He, has both a right and a left hand in terms of name. However, in terms of virtue, both hands are right and blessed, without any deficiency whatsoever. Allah possesses absolute perfection in every aspect, according to the consensus of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah, who are the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) and their righteous followers. As Allah, Exalted is He, says: {Rather, both His hands are extended; He spends however He wills} (Al-Ma’idah: 64)." End of Quote.

Shaykh Ibn al-Uthaymīn, may Allāh have mercy on him, said in "Majmū‘ al-Fatāwa wa Rasā’il ibn al-Uthaymīn" (1/165):

"His statement: 'Then he takes them with his left hand' — the word 'left' has been a point of disagreement among the narrators. Some of them affirmed it, while others omitted it. Those who affirmed it were judged to be shādhdh because they contradicted two trustworthy narrators in their transmission from Ibn 'Umar.

Some have said that the narrator is reliable, but that he mentioned it based on his own interpretation.

The basis of this error is what has been established in Sahih Muslim where the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'The just will be on pulpits of light on the right of the Most Merciful, and both of His hands are right.' This implies that there is no right hand and left hand.

However, if the word 'left' is authentically preserved, then in my view, it does not contradict the statement 'both of His hands are right.' The meaning would be that the other hand is not like the left hand of a created being, which is deficient compared to the right hand. He said 'both of His hands are right,' meaning that there is no deficiency in it. This is supported by his statement in the hadith of Adam: 'I chose the right hand of my Lord, and both of His hands are right and blessed.' So, when the illusion might arise that affirming the left implies a deficiency in that hand compared to the other, he said 'both of His hands are right.' This is further supported by his statement: 'The just will be on pulpits of light on the right of the Most Merciful,' indicating the honor and rank of those who are on the right of the Most Merciful, glorified be He.

In any case, His hands, glorified be He, are two without doubt, and each one is distinct from the other. If we describe the other hand as the left, the intent is not that it is less powerful than the right hand, but rather that both of His hands are right.

It is obligatory for us to say: If it is authentically reported from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), then we believe in it, and there is no contradiction between it and his statement: 'both of His hands are right,' as previously mentioned. If it is not authentically reported, then we do not affirm it." End of Quote

Shaykh Sālih al-Fawzān said in his explanation of al-Hā'iyyah (pg. 93-4):

"It comes with wording right and left in the hadīth, then he said the Messenger ﷺ both His Hands are right. So, it is left with the meaning of right and that is to remove any deficiencies from Allāh's Hand. Because whenever the listener hears the left hand being affirmed for Allāh maybe one will consider it to be deficient compared to the right like the creation because the left hand of the creation is deficient compared to the right. It is well known (for the creation that) the left hand is used to remove impurities, as for the right hand it is for doing good, giving and receiving, eating and drinking and other than that. So possibly that when a person hears a left hand being affirmed for Allāh, it may enter their (thoughts that) the left hand is deficient in comparison to His right Hand, like the creation. So, the Messenger negated this misconception and said both are right." End of Quote.

This shows the level of these youtube and social media personalities that have masqueraded themselves as people of knowledge for too long, yet do not even understand the basics!
